Vamana procedure
The process by which the apakwa pitta and kapha dosha are eliminated through urdhvabhaga (upper route) is called as vamana.
As the flowers or fruits of the plant gets destroyed by cutting similarly, kaphaja vikara will be cured by kapha shodhana through vamana karma.
Virechana procedure
Virechana is the procedure in which orally administered drug acts on internally vitiated dosha (specifically on pitta dosha) and expels them out through rectal route.
How the aquatic animals and plants dies after emptying the water similarly, person will be cured by pittaja roga after elimination of aggravated pitta from the body.
Basti procedure
The introduced medicine through anal route will reach the nabhi, kati, parshwa, kukshi in the person who is taken snehana therapy and it eliminates the dosha with the stool without causing complications is called as basti.
The Virya (potency) of Basti similarly spreads in whole of the body like the moisture absorbed from the roots of plant is passed on to all the parts of the plant.
Nasya procedure
Nasya is therapeutic procedure in which intranasal drug administration done with sneha, kwatha, swarsa, churna for strengthen the urdhvajatrugata avayava (parts above the clavicle) and for eliminating aggravated dosha situated in urdhvajatru.
It Enhances the functions of sense organs.
Mouth will be devoid of bad odour.
Hair falling, wrinkling of skin, dark spots over skin can be prevented by nasya karma.
Shirodhara procedure
Pouring the medicated dravadravya in the form of stream over the forehead for stipulated time period is known as shirodhara.
Shirodhara is indicated in urdhvajatrugata vikara.

Leech therapy

Pinda Sweda
The bolus which is prepared by cooking shashtikashali , Aushadha dravya and ksheera and this bolous is applied either all over the body or localy to induce perspiration is called as shashtikashali pinda sweda.
Greeva Basti
Retention of indicated oil inside the ring of masha dough constructed over greeva is called as grivabasti.
